But while research is important (47% of hiring managers said that having “little or no knowledge of the company” is applicants’ most common misstep), it’s not enough. Everything from not smiling enough, having a weak handshake, and not making eye contact can tank your changes at landing a job. In fact, 33% of hiring managers said they knew whether they’d hire a candidate in the first 90 seconds of the interview.
